A non-partisan chorus of voices urging strong climate action in our Province

Climate change is a massive global problem, and we need to do our part.

And it is an urgent one; on one day in April 2022, over 1000 climate scientists worldwide risked arrest in civil disobedience actions to draw our attention to the crisis.

Companies, investors, communities and governments around the world have been accelerating a shift to a low-carbon economy. Alberta must not get left behind.

We are not energy experts, nor economists. Climate Plan Alberta does not presume, beyond the broadest strokes as suggested on our Background Page, to prescribe any detailed version of a Provincial climate plan; our Government has their own scientists and policymakers who know what a credible plan consists of in 2023. We also know that there are several qualified experts eager to step in and critique any proposed climate plans. Finally, there is already a born-and-based-in Alberta think tank, which the Alberta Government referred to as an "expert source" and "a well-respected, non-partisan environmental policy think tank" in court filings at the Supreme Court of Canada, which has recently put out a report with a comprehensive set of recommendations towards a new climate plan for the Province.

As a non-partisan chorus of voices, the undersigned organizations simply urge the Alberta Government to make our Plan a robust and credible one.
